EU citizens want common immigration policy

As governments in the EU bicker about how and whether to agree a common EU policy for asylum and immigration, it seems that their citizens are clearer about what they want.

According to a survey published today by eurobarometer, 56% see the need for economic migration while 66% want equal rights for legal immigrants.
