Agenda for Biarritz summit

After the usual meeting with the President of the European Parliament, at the morning and afternoon working sessions and the dinner on Friday 13th October there will be an in-depth discussion of the 4 main themes of the IGC:

– Composition and internal organisation of the Commission,

– Weighting of votes in Council,

– Extension of the vote to the qualified majority,

– Closer cooperation.

At the lunch on the same day, the Heads of State and Government will be dealing with current topics, i.e.

– The developments in FRY / Serbia,

– The situation in the Middle East

– And the problems with the oil markets.

On the morning of Saturday 14th October, the Charter of Fundamental Rights will be discussed in the presence of the three Vice Presidents of the Convention (President Herzog will be absent for health reasons), as well as the issue of whether Article 7 of the Treaty regarding the violation of fundamental rights should be supplemented.
