Norwegian forces to contribute to EU operations
Norway is under pressure as a NATO member but not an EU member as a result of the agreement between NATO and the EU on the EU rapid reaction force's access to NATO assets. Like Turkey, Norway fears being overridden during the planning phase before actions by the EU force. The American NATO ambassador warned against such a development.
"Backstage work is already being carried out in order to enable the first EU operation in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to be launched some weeks before the established date, 1 March 2003, according to Aftenposten. But the EU is also going to take over the far more extensive operation in Bosnia.

Norway is positive to the NATO-Agreement, and has announced that the country's forces will contribute to EU operations, according to Viktor Rønneberg, second in command on the Norwegian NATO delegation, quoted by Aftenposten.
